Course Description

This course is designed to cover the required topics as identified for second class engineers in the Transport Canada Publication TP 2293 – Training of Marine Personnel and delivered according to the standards established within TP 15030 – Block Credit Course Accreditation.

To provide students with basic understanding of thermodynamics principles.
To enable students to understand the movement of heat and how this applies to engines.
To give students the mathematical tools to solve basic thermodynamic problems.

Prerequisites

Candidate must be at least 18 years of age

Notes

The student must achieve a minimum mark of 60% on the final exam and a minimum course mark of 60% to pass this course.
