Course Description

This introductory level course is designed to provide the student with the theoretical and practical training to properly inspect, maintain, clean, and be Fit Tested in Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) use.

Learning Outcomes

  • To enable students to properly inspect, maintain and clean a SCBA unit.
  • To enable students to properly Fit Test a SCBA unit.

Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.

If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
