Course Description
This is an introductory course designed to enable the trainee to understand the functioning of a personal emergency descender system and to demonstrate a controlled descent from an elevation above water.Learning Outcomes
- To enable the student to understand the operating principles of a personal descender system.
- To enable the student to prepare and don given personal descender equipment and to descend from an elevated platform.

Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
