Course Description
This is a basic level course designed to enable the students to understand the theoretical aspects of an industrial fire team and to demonstrate the practical aspects in fire suppression in relation to a fire team.Learning Outcomes
- To enable the student to better understand the behavior of fire and why it behaves as it does.
- To enable the student to identify the advantages and limitations of personal protective equipment.
- To help the student to identify and correctly use fre-related equipment.
- To enable the student to recognize the importance of using the team approach in emergency situations.

Medical ClearanceNotes
Medicals should be provided to administration prior to course start date but students can bring the medical along the morning of registration.Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
