Course Description
This course provides theoretical and practical skills to enable students to recognize the signs of a flashover situation and be able to react accordingly for their personal safety.

- To enable students to control or delay a flashover allowing time to escape.

Copy of valid Transport Canada Seafarer's medical is required for this training. Prerequisites should be provided to administration prior to course start date but students can bring the prerequisites along the morning of registration. (Should you have a valid medical from another jurisdiction, please contact administration to have the medical validated for training.) To comply with Provincial OH&S legislation all students participating in this course to be clean shaven and must provide a fit test certificate (quantitative) for use of Scott AV 3000 style face piece. Fit testing for this training can be completed on site. Please note that there is a fee associated for this service of $65 plus tax.

Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
