200305 - Fire Officer - Level I
Course Description
This course is based upon NFPA 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications - Chapter 4. The course identifies the performance requirements necessary to perform the duties of a first line Supervisor. This course introduces the student to the basic concepts of management and supervision.

- Enable students to apply logic and ethics in decision-making activities.
- Enable students to conduct effective interpersonal, oral, and written communications.
- Enable students to perform records management, pre-incident planning, and incident scene management activities.

Prerequisites
- NFPA 1001 - Level II, ProBoard Board/NPQS Fire Fighter II, or SERT Competency Checklist;
- NFPA 1041 - Fire Instructor I, ProBoard/NPQS Fire Instructor I, or SERT Competency Checklist
- NFPA 1021 Certification Testing Pre-Requisites (as outline by Fire and Emergency Services NL):
- NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level II Certification;
- NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor Level I Certification
Notes
All pre-requisites should be provided to administration prior to course start date.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
