201709 - Emergency Services Instructor - Level II
Course Description
This is an instructor level course introducing the student to both the theoretical and practical aspects of adult learning theories, instructional techniques and resource management. This course incorporates build on concepts covered in the Emergency Services Instructor - Level I course to meet NFPA 1041.
Learning Outcomes
- Enable the student to meet the job performance requirements of Emergency Services Personnel – Level II as defined by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1041.
- Enable the student to develop the skill set required for preparing and presenting training for personnel of Emergency Services Organizations using a variety of methods.
- Enable the student to manage instructional resources, schedule training sessions, and implement appropriate evaluation techniques.
- Enable the student to develop instructional materials and evaluation instruments and analyze the results of evaluations to determine test validity.

Prerequisites should be provided to administration prior to course start date but students can bring the prerequisites along the morning of registration.
Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
