Course Description

This is an Instructor Level Course that introduces the student to both the theoretical and practical aspects of Adult Learning Theories, Methods, Lesson Plans, and Instructional Techniques. This course incorporates the Emergency Services Instructor Level I requirements as stated in NFPA 1041.

Learning Outcomes

  • Enable students to identify the obligations of an Emergency Services Instructor to students, the organization, the profession, and themselves.
  • Enable students to conduct proper evaluation, questioning, and presentation techniques for delivering course materials.
  • Enable students to deliver instruction from a prepared lesson plan, including appropriate use of instructional aids and evaluation instruments.
  • Enable students to adapt existing lesson plans to meet the unique needs of a specific organization and its students.
  • Enable students to organize the learning environment to maximize instructional quality and learning opportunities.

If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
