Course Description

This basic course is designed to instruct workers in the safe and correct procedures involved in confined space entry.

Learning Outcomes

This course will enable the student:

  • To understand the hazards of confined spaces.
  • To understand the use of gas detection dquipment.
  • To understand purging and ventilating.
  • To understand entry procedures.
  • To identify rescue equipment used in confined space entry and rescue.

Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.

If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
