200716 - Basic Industrial Firefighting
Course Description
This is a basic level course designed to enable the student to identify fire hazards and to react independently or as part of a fire team in an industrial setting.
Learning Outcomes
- Enable the student to better understand fire behaviour and the reasons behind it.
- Enable the student to identify the advantages and limitations of personal protective equipment (PPE) in an industrial setting.
- Help the student identify and correctly use industrial fire-related equipment.

Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
