Course Description
This is an introductory level course designed to enable students to identify dangerous goods incidents and properly perform isolation and evacuation procedures.
Learning Outcomes
- To help students recognize the hazards associated with a hazardous materials incident.
- To enable students to respond to a hazardous materials incident within their limitations of Hazmat Awareness capabilities.
- To enable students to use relevant Emergency Response Guidebook.

Prerequisites should be provided to administration prior to course start date but students can bring them along the morning of registration.
Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
