Course Description
This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of confined spaces and the ability to recognize hazards associated with working in a confined space environment. This course will meet the Workers Safety Compensation Commission Act and Regulations regarding confined space entry.Learning Outcomes
- Enable students to recognize a confined space environment.
- Enable students to identify and control hazards in a confined space environment.
- Provide students with basic knowledge of a confined space work permit system.
- Provide students with basic knowledge of reporting confined space accidents/incidents.
- Familiarize students with basic confined space rescue planning.

Please be advised that the daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
