201310 - Marine Advanced First Aid
Course Description
This is an advanced first aid training course for seafarers that meets IMO: STCW Regulation VI/4 and STCW Code Section A-VI/4, and requirements under TP 13008 Training Standards for Marine First Aid and Marine Medical Care. This course is designed for seafarers who would apply immediate advanced first aid in the event of an accident or illness onboard a vessel.
Learning Outcomes
- To provide seafarers, designated to provide advanced medical first aid or to take charge of medical care onboard a vessel, with an understanding of the tasks, duties and responsibilities associated with the designation.
- To provide seafarers with the knowledge and skills to take immediate action in case of accident or illness onboard a vessel.

Please be advised that daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form for tax purposes.
