Course Description

This course has been designed for industry as an introductory training experience, both in theory and practical evolutions. Its primary purpose is to enable the trainee to stop a fire in the incipient stage.

Learning Outcomes

  • To enable the student to readily identify the correct type of extinguisher for the different classes of fire.
  • To enable the student to efficiently activate a portable fire extinguisher and extinguish a fire.
  • To enable the student to conduct a basic inspection of a fire extinguisher.
  • To enable the student to efficiently deploy a standpipe hose and place it in operation.

Please be advised that daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
