200832 - Confined Space Entry (WHSCC)
Course Description
This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of confined spaces and the ability to recognize hazards associated with working in a confined space environment. This course will meet the Confined Space Training Standard for Workplace Health and Safety Compensation Commission (WHSCC) for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Learning Outcomes
To enable students to:
- Recognize a confined space environment
- Identify and control hazards associated with confined spaces
- Gain basic knowledge of the confined space work permit system
- Understand the procedures for reporting confined space accidents and incidents
- Become familiar with basic confined space rescue planning

*NOTE: Recertification required EVERY 3 YEARS.

Please be advised that daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
