202014 - Offshore Fire / Emergency Response Team Leader
Course Description
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills required to lead an emergency response team during an incident offshore.
Learning Outcomes
- To enable participants to understand the roles, responsibilities, and functions of the Fire Team Leader.
- To provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to lead a team during an incident.
- To enable participants to practice leadership skills during simulated emergency scenarios.

Notes
A valid CAPP Medical is required for this training.
To comply with Provincial OH&S legislation the OSSC requires all students participating in this course to be clean shaven and must provide a fit test certificate (quantitative) for use of Scott AV 3000 style face piece. Fit testing for this training can be completed at the OSSC. Please note that there is a fee associated for this service of $65 plus tax.
Please bring a change of clothes and a towel daily for practical sessions.
Please be advised that the OSSC daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
