This course is designed to provide knowledge of corrective actions to be taken in problem solving related to the deteriorating function of ship machinery.

Learner Outcomes

Applicants must have obtained a certificate of competency at a minimum level of 4th class Engineer, STCW endorsed. As well, applicants must have completed a minimum of 6 months of sea service as engineer in charge of an engineering watch or in charge of machinery onboard a vessel of at least 750 KW.  All applicants MUST present their current Certificate of Competency and a Letter of Sea Service to the Office of the Registrar prior to starting the course.
