Course Description
This is a basic first aid training course for seafarers that meets IMO: STCW Regulation VI/ 4 and STCW Code Section A-V1/ 4, and requirements under TP 13008 Training Standards for Marine First Aid and Marine Medical Care. This course is designed for seafarers who would apply immediate basic first aid in the event of an accident or illness onboard a vessel.

We will have loaner textbooks in the classroom for each participant to use as a reference and learning aid in the event that they have any trouble accessing the ebook.
For those participants that want to purchase a hard-copy book, they will still be for sale through the St. John Ambulance office located on 8 Thomas Byrne Drive, St. John’s, NL. Telephone 709-726-4200.
Please be advised that daily course schedules are subject to change and all participants should be prepared for course deliveries outside normal business hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). You will be notified if any such change is necessary. In the event of inclement weather, students should visit www.mi.mun.ca for important announcements regarding class cancellations and rescheduling. Announcements regarding class cancellations will also be on local radio stations.
If you are eligible to receive a T2202A for tax purposes, they will be available on Short Course Registration in February of the following year. Students are advised to log into your Destiny account in order to print a copy of your T2202A form.
