We will request access to these courses for you and you will receive an e-mail providing you with your password from the Distance Education Learning and Teaching Support section of Memorial University. An information package outlining the procedures to access your course will be emailed to you soon.
If you are receiving EI, or are EI eligible, you should visit your local Advanced Education and Skills (AES) office as soon as possible. Students receiving sponsorship are required to provide proof of funding before being permitted to register.
While not a part of this FMIV on-line delivery, MI will be scheduling SEN-L (Simulated Electronic Navigation Limited), MED A1 (Marine Emergency Duties A1), MAFA (Marine Advanced First Aid - 5 day) and ROC/MC (Restricted Operators Certificate – Maritime Commercial) throughout the academic year at the Marine Institute’s Main Campus and throughout the province. These courses will be done in the traditional manner; with the instructor face to face with the students.
Copy of valid Transport Canada Seafarer's medical is required for the DVS (Formerly MED-A1). Medicals should be provided to administration prior to course start date but students can bring the medical along the morning of registration. (Should you have a valid medical from another jurisdiction, please contact administration to have the medical validated for training.)
